The life

Still being written. Maybe you drew constantly as a child and something made you stop. Maybe you never started. Maybe there is a shed, a kitchen table or a phone full of things you have made and shown nobody. Alfred Wallis started at about seventy. Bill Traylor started at about eighty five. The founder of this gallery started again at 37. The register is open.

The work

Whatever it is, in whatever it is made from. The artists in this guide used house paint, soot, ballpoint, mud, thread, broken crockery and the backs of envelopes. Materials are not the barrier. Nothing is the barrier.
