9 April 2026. First time seeing Arclite House up close: the building that, a few months later, would become home to Studio BRUT.
It does not look like anywhere else in Swindon. A sweep of curved glass sitting on a bed of boulders at Peatmoor, green on every side, water just behind. More greenhouse than office block, which, for a studio that wants to grow artists, feels about right.
Nothing was agreed at this point. This was just a walk around the outside and a feeling: lots of light, lots of space, and the sense that something could happen here.
It turned out to be the start of everything.
