Free to enter. No commission. Entries close at 11:59pm on Sunday 8 November 2026.
In 1863 the Paris Salon turned down so much work that the rejected artists got their own show, the Salon des Refusés. This is ours. Send us the work that got turned down somewhere else: the open call that said no, the gallery that never replied, the competition you did not place in. A rejection you gave yourself counts too.
Every entry needs a short story about the rejection. It is printed and shown next to the work at the show, because the rejection is not the embarrassing bit to leave out, it is the exhibition.
The short version
- Up to three works, or a small set that belongs together. Extra photos of them (close-ups, other angles) are welcome, up to eight images.
- Any medium: painting, drawing, sculpture, textile, print, photography, digital. Photography and digital work must be printed and framed by you, ready to hang.
- Eighteen and over.
- No exhibiting fee and no commission on sales. Donations to the studio are welcome but never needed.
- Entering does not guarantee a place. Every entry is looked at properly, and selected artists get drop-off dates by email.
